DAY 2 SHOWS.
So NYFW is completely in full swing and lets just say that ss16 looks like a season to be excited for, with shows such as Zimmerman and Wes Gordon, the simple and clean silhouettes will fit into my wardrobe like a dream.
Victorian inspired, Zimmerman embodies the lace and textural feel of the warmer months, letting the finer details do the talking the trend envisions the past decades that captured lace, corsets, frills and tailoring at its best! Lets not even talk about the beauty of the prints and its way of capturing every woman’s eye regardless on their style.
A new designer to me this year I must admit, but definitely not a designer I will forget any time soon! Wes Gordon’s collection takes primary colours and combines traditional prints to create the future colour of wardrobe ( and lets not draw too much attention to the pointed white loafer, swoon!), the gingham mix with silks and leathers is sure to create a buzz come spring/summer.
An old classic with a fresh face, with Givenchy making the move from Paris to New York, I could hardly wait for the collection ( as well as up and coming model Kendall Jenner walking in the show), and it surely didn’t disappoint. The classic mix of black and white certainly had my eyes glued to the show, but the mix for this season was taking your basic colours and adding texture, depth and detail to uplift the classic take on a modern wardrobe.
DAY 3 SHOWS.
Top of my list for Day 3 has to be Alexander Wang, Dion lee and Tibi. Alexander Wang’s collection embodies the stripes and streamlined, keeping lines clean and minimal with a military inspiration. A complete contrast yet an obvious favourite has to be the Dion Lee show, the collection blew my mind and I cannot get over how simple and sophisticated the pieces are yet still carry the fine edge. Followed amazingly by Tibi, a designer I discovered from the Australian bloggers Sara and Amanda, and her collection would definitely the best of the summer.
As previously stated, the fashion bloggers and street style superstars that caught my eye over the last few days have to be a fresh take on the SS16 trends.
